  • John Alexander Medal recipient
  • Retired from the Army after 28 years of service
  • Two tours of duty in Vietnam and throughout his career he was awarded-among many other medals-the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Air Medal with V-Device, and the Air Medal with 16 Oak Leaf Clusters
  • Airborne Ranger qualified, a Fixed Wing and Rotary Wing Aviator flying combat missions in Vietnam
  • Coached youth baseball and football
  • For nearly 30 years he was a high school football referee with the Northern Virginia Football Officials Association (NVFOA)
