• Selected to the honorary varsity team nine times in three sports, field hockey, basketball, and volleyball
• Elected vice president and president of the Women’s Athletic Association 
• Represented Western Md at regional conferences of the national association of health, physical education and recreation giving a keynote speech in 1947
• Received the “M” awarded in the green sweater in her junior year 
• Awarded the blazer award, the highest individual athletic honor at the time
• Senior year she was asked by the physical education department to teach physical education activities skill classes
