  • 1st player to use a Shovel Pass against Boston College on November 12, 1932
  • Member of the 1930 undefeated football team
  • Member of the Maryland State Football Championship teams in the 1930s
  • Coached football and basketball at Wise High School in Virginia (1934-40)
  • Played on several semi-pro baseball and basketball teams
  • Refereed high school and college athletic events
  • Wrote a sports column (A Coach's Comment) for The Post in southwest Virginia for 7 years
  • Football coach at Newport News High School in 1941
  • During WWII active duty, assisted in the formation of athletic programs for uniformed personnel
  • Oversaw the redesign of the College golf course, the installation of Harlow Pool and the provision for use of campus facilities by the Baltimore Colts as 1st director of the physical plant
  • Initiated the WMC Golf Tournament (held for 35 years) which later became the Green and Gold Stoney Willis Golf Classic
