  • Joined the faculty at WMC in 1920 as director of physical culture for women
  • Introduced basketball as a varsity sport in 1923
  • Organized inter-class volleyball and field ball programs
  • Introduced field hockey on the Hill
  • WMC’s first Women’s Athletic Director
  • The 1st Women’s Program - BB – 1923
  • Created first individual activity courses in P.E including separate sport courses, a dance course.
  • Created first course for lecture teachers of P.E.
  • Created, directed. Choreographed, and designed costumes for a performing student dance corp. 
  • Held the highest Women’s coaching W-L go (.688) for 50 years surpassed by C. Fritz (1968-1989) and Sandy Bly 2012-2024
  • A student accolade in the 1925 Aloha states, “To her and her alone, belongs the credit for all that has been achieved at Western Maryland College in the way of intercollegiate sports for girls.”
