CHESTER, Pa. - Highlighted by senior
Wyatt Farace, the McDaniel College men's outdoor track & field team sent a select group of individuals to the Widener Last Chance Qualifier on Monday.
Farace broke the longest standing record in team history, posting a time of 15:23.01 in the 5,000 meters which surpassed the mark of 15:27.66 set by Gary McWilliams 53 years ago in 1970.
Junior Nick Raumann crossed the line in 15:44.55 to move into seventh in program history in the 5,000.
Senior Nick Razze broke his own record in the 400-meter hurdles that he set three days ago at the 2023 ECAC Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He placed second with a time of 52.84 seconds and now has the 10th-fastest time nationally.
Selections for the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be announced Sunday, May 21 in a press release NCAA.com.
The 4x400 team of N. Razze, senior Anthony Razze, sophomore Jeremiah Maxwell and junior Tyler Richardson set a new program record with a time of 3:18.67 which bettered the mark of 3:19.42 set by Calvin Woodward, Dave Maskeroni, Stuart Johnson and Scott Koleszar at the 2004 Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Meanwhile, junior Chett Brunner placed fourth in shot put with a throw of 14.34 meters and placed 14th in the discus while freshman Jack Sears ran a time of 4:07.01 in the 1,500 meters.
The NCAA championship meet will be held May 25-28 at Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, N.Y.
