BALTIMORE Md. - Graduate student Chett Brunner broke a 67-year-old program record to lead the McDaniel College men's track & field team to a second-place finish at the 2025 ECAC Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Goucher.
The Green Terror placed second in the 10-team meet with a total score of 134 points. Delaware Valley won the team title with a score of 154 points.
Brunner won the shot put with a throw of 15.05m (49' 4.5") and took second in the discus with a throw of 43.45m (142' 6").
As a result, Brunner set a program record for career points with 388. The previous record of 382.25 points was set by John Hort in 1958. Only four athletes in program history have ever surpassed the 300-point mark.
Junior Jack Reiser won the 800 meters in a time of 1:56.33 and junior Ethan Bush placed third in 1:57.78. Graduate student Tyler Richardson placed fourth in 1:59.73, senior Anders Madsen placed fifth in 2:00.04, and senior Sean Irwin ran 2:06.68 to place 10th.
Richardson won the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:01.57, moving him into sixth all-time in program history. Graduate student Nick Raumann followed in third with a time of 4:15.44. Raumann also placed second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 16:15.87.
The 4x800-meter relay of Irwin, Bush, Raumann, and Madsen won with a time of 8:29.73.
Senior Kyle Hubbard placed second in the 110-meter hurdles, running a time of 15.76 seconds. Sophomore Roman Arensmeyer placed fifth with a time of 16.51 seconds.
Hubbard placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.95 seconds and Irwin placed 11th running 1:09.57.
Senior Oral-Anthony Coleman placed third in the long jump with a mark of 6.57m (21' 6.75") and junior Christian Homer placed seventh with a mark of 5.99m (19' 8"). Coleman also placed fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 11.19 seconds. Homer placed sixth in triple jump with a mark of 12.41m (40' 8.75").
Senior Jayden Rodwell took third in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.23m (115' 7") while sophomore Jamey Travers placed fifth with a mark of 34.95m (114' 8"), moving him into 10th in program history. Junior AJ Iglesias placed sixth with a mark of 31.57m (103' 7") and sophomore Jacob Gibson placed seventh with a mark of 31.26m (102' 6").
The 4x400-meter relay team of Bush, Reiser, Madsen, and Richardson placed third with a time of 3:25.53.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Homer, Coleman, Hubbard, and Bush placed fifth with a time of 44.92 seconds.
Rodwell placed ninth in the shot put with a mark of 11.56m (37' 11.25"). Travers placed 10th in discus with a throw of 33.42m (109' 7") and Rodwell threw 31.44m (103' 1") to place 13th. Iglesias placed 14th with a throw of 28.16m (92' 4").
Reiser placed ninth in the javelin with a throw of 33.90m (111' 2") and Travers placed 10th with a throw of 28.37m (93-1).
