THE SKINNY
Washington (Md.) scored the first four goals of the game before withstanding a McDaniel rally in the middle of the game and eventually pulling away for a 14-9 victory.
THE LEADERS
• Dom Calderoni (Glen Cove, N.Y./North Shore) led the Green Terror with five goals.
• Nick DeLoriers (Abingdon, Md./John Carroll) added four assists and four ground balls.
FOR THE FOES
• Ewan Temple led the Shoremen with five goals and four assists.
• Gabe Velasquez went 11-for-15 on faceoffs.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Washington jumped on the board early, taking a 4-0 lead in the first 7:13. Ewan Temple scored three of the four during the opening stretch and Mac Hale had three assists. With 1:38 left in the first period, Dom Calderoni cut in front of the net and scored off a pass from Nick DeLoriers to put McDaniel on the board.
• The second quarter began just like the first with the Shoremen scoring another four straight to open the period and take an 8-1 lead with 5:44 remaining. Temple added another two goals in the run. Liam DeLorenzo (Allentown, N.J./Allentown) found Patrick Fegan (Edgewater, Md./South River) to end the Shoremen run with 4:32 on the clock. McDaniel added goes from Eric Manfredonia (Ramsey, N.J./Saint Joseph Regional) and Calderoni to close out the half down and pull within 8-4.
• Dylan Kilroy opened the third-quarter scoring off a pass from Ewan Temple just over three minutes into the period. With 10:36 showing, DeLoriers dished to Manfredonia for his second goal of the night. Both defenses controlled the majority of the period until Calderoni capitalized off a pass from Jason Fritz (Germantown, Md./Clarksburg) to cut the Shoremen lead to 9-6. Washington responded with back-to-back goals from Ben Dickinson to stretch the lead to 1-6 after three quarters.
• Calderoni finished an assist from Nick Wingo (Westminster, Md./Westminster) for his fourth goal of the game on his first four shots. However, Logan Clefisch converted a man-up opportunity for Washington with 9:00 remaining before a pair of goals 67 seconds apart pushed the lead to 14-7 with 6:32 to play. Fritz and Calderoni each found the back of the net in the final 1:20 for the final margin.

• Luke Shires (Fallston, Md./Loyola Blakefield) led McDaniel with five ground balls.
