Men's Lacrosse Drops Conference Contest at No. 12 Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Four different players registered a point as the McDaniel College men's lacrosse team fell to No. 12 Gettysburg in a Centennial Conference contest Wednesday night at Shirk Field at Musselman Stadium.

The contest marked the sixth opponent for the Green Terror (5-10, 0-6 CC) who has been nationally ranked or receiving votes in the USILA Division III Coaches Poll at some point during the season, including the fifth-straight. That number will climb to seven and six in-a-row on Saturday when the team travels to Muhlenberg.

Junior Aidan Skelly, first-year Cutter Stanton, and first-year Colin Fox each netted goals for McDaniel. Skelly extended his goal streak to three-straight games while Stanton scored his first since March 21 versus Haverford. Meanwhile, Fox has scored a goal in three of five games.

Sophomore Clancy Brosius was the fourth different Green Terror to record a point, picking up his second assist of the season on Skelly's goal with 9:23 remaining in the first quarter that gave the visitors a 1-0 lead.

The Bullets (8-4, 5-1 CC) tied the game 40 seconds later on what was the first of 17 unanswered for the home team as it built a 17-1 advantage with 6:00 left in the third quarter.

Gettysburg had 16 different goal scorers, including five who netted their first of the season. The Bullets also scored on 4-of-5 extra-man opportunities.

Five different players had a caused turnover for McDaniel while senior Jack Sabo had two ground balls. Junior Gabe Wallman and senior Seth Hurt combined for 19 saves. Hurt faced 19 shots, playing the entire fourth-quarter, allowing six goals while making six saves.

McDaniel travels to Allentown, Pa. on Saturday for a 2 p.m. face-off against the Mules.
