THE SKINNY
St. Vincent used a 6-0 run that spanned either side of halftime to open up a 12-3 lead before holding on to defeat McDaniel, 13-11.
THE LEADERS
• Nick DeLoriers (Abingdon, Md./John Carroll) led the Green Terror with four goals and three assists.
• Dylan Vitale (Forked River, N.J./Lacey Township) added four goals and one assist.

• Caleb Hawkins led the Bearcats with six goals.
• Jordan Billett added three goals.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• St. Vincent converted a pair of first-quarter man-up opporuntiies with Matthew Cassidy finding Caleb Hawkins both times for a 2-0 lead with 4:34 to play in the first quarter. Nick Wingo (Westminster, Md./Westminster) cut the deficit in half off the first of Nick DeLoriers' seven points.
• Hawkins scored his third of the day just 40 seconds into the second quarter. After Jordan Billet and Dylan Vitale traded goals to keep it a three-goal margin with 12:12 to play, Andrew Coholich and Hawkins pushed the lead to 6-2 with 8:50 remaining. DeLoriers finished a solo run to momentarily halt the run but Billet had a hand in the final three goals of the half, finding Tyler Condrasky and finishing the final two of Cassidy's four assists in the final 1:23 of hte half for a 9-3 edge.
• Hawkins started another three-goal run out of the break, stretching the advantage to nine with 8:51 remaining in the quarter. Back-to-back DeLoriers goals, off assists from Bobby Ruppert (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) and Vitale, just 45 seconds apart started a rally. A Patrick Fegan (Edgewater, Md./South River) unassisted tally with 4:55 remaining made it a 12-6 game after three.
• Eric Manfredonia (Ramsey, N.J./Saint Joseph Regional) scored off an assist from DeLoriers in the opening minute of the final period, but Hawkins reponded with 11:34 to play. Three Vitale goals and one from DeLoriers in the final 5:53 trimmed the final deficit to two.
THE INSIDE STORY
• McDaniel finished with a 40-36 edge in shots behind an 11-5 advantage in the final period.
• Jason Heeley (Silver Spring, Md./Paint Branch) won 16 of 25 faceoffs with nine ground balls. The Green Terror won 18 of 28 as a team.
