Calderoni dishes out two assists on the road

THE SKINNY
St. Mary's (Md.) scored the final seven goals of the first half to take a 10-2 lead into the break, ultimately defeating McDaniel, 16-4.

THE LEADERS
Dom Calderoni (Glen Cove, N.Y./North Shore) led the Green Terror with two assists.
Nick DeLoriers (Abingdon, Md./John Carroll) scored a pair of goals and added an assist.
Patrick Fegan (Edgewater, Md./South River) recorded one goal and one ground ball.

FOR THE FOES
• Jude Brown paced the Seahawks with three goals and an assist.
• Abe Hubbard added two goals and two assists.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• St. Mary's jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the game's first 8:08, keyed by a goal and an assist by Johnny McGrain. Patrick Fegan (Edgewater, Md./South River) broke up the run, finishing a pass from Eric Manfredonia (Ramsey, N.J./Saint Joseph Regional) in front of the net with 5:49 on the clock. Dom Calderoni and Nick DeLoriers connected nearly three minutes later to close the margin to 3-2 bubt Ethan Little responded in short order and Aiden Doyle made it a 5-2 game at the end of the first quarter.
• The Seahawks offense scored five more in the second quarter to open up the big halftime advantage. Jude Brown scored twice in the period.
Liam DeLorenzo (Allentown, N.J./Allentown) converted a man-up goal off a DeLoriers pass just 1:24 into the third quarter. Sta. Mary's, however, scored the next five and seven of the last eight for the victory.
• Reece Small opened the fourth quarter off a pass from Ethan Little for a 13-3 lead before Brown capped his hat trick a minute later. Calderoni and DeLoriers connected once again with 8:06 to play but goals from Mark LoPresto and Walker Krizman set the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
• St. Mary's finished with a 56-23 advantage in shots and 46-15 advantage in ground balls.

NEXT UP
McDaniel returns to action at Goucher on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
