THE SKINNY STORY
Dickinson scored six of the final seven goals to turn a 5-4 edge with 3:40 to play in the second quarter into a 12-5 victory over McDaniel.
THE LEADERS
• Micah Brooks (Woolford, Md./Cambridge South Dorchester) led the Green Terror with three goals.
• Bobby Ruppert (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) netter the other two markers. He also had an assist.
• Brighton Lorber (Lutherville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) made 15 saves in goal.
FOR THE FOES
• Tucker Booth led the Red Devils with three goals and two assists.
• Skyler Schluter and Sascha Gannon added two goals each. Schluter had two assists.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Tucker Booth found Jake Giotto then scored a goal of his own to stake Dickinson to a 2-0 lead just 2:23 into the game. Micah Brooks got McDaniel on the board just over a minute later before Sascha Gannon and Skyler Schluter each scored their first markers for a 4-1 lead after the first quarter.
• Goals from Brooks and Bobby Ruppert around a Schluter tally made it a 5-3 game before Ruppert finished a feed from John Lux (Cornwall, Pa./Cedar Crest) to put the deficit to one with 3:40 to play in the second. Gannon stretched the lead back to two with 2:27 to play in the half.
• Cooper Chamberlain accounted for the only third-quarter goal, finishing a solo run with 4:23 remaining.
• Goals from Will Farrell and Booth six seconds apart pushed the lead to 9-4 just 51 seconds in the fourth quarter. Booth finished his hat trick 36 seconds later. Ruppert found Brooks to break up a run of 29 minutes, 5 seconds without a goal before Lee Dunn closed the scoring with 55 ticks left.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The 15 saves were a career high for Brighton Lorber.
• John Lux's second-quarter assist was his first point in a Green Terror uniform.
• Dickinson outshot McDaniel 47-20 in the game.
