THE REST OF THE STORY
Bryce Brookhart finished a quick Joey Conklin pass in transition for a 1-0 lead just 2:17 into the game. Cooper Archambault made a move up high and finished to double the advantage a minute later. Dylan Brasch cut the deficit in half directly off the ensuing faceoff. Micah Brooks (Woolford, Md./Cambridge South Dorchester) found Conklin for a 3-1 lead with 9:07 on the clock before a Chris Deardon unassisted tally once again made it a one-goal game. Brooks and Noah Longest (Ocean View, Del./Caesar Rodney) each scored in the final 5:14 of the quarter for a 5-2 lead.
• After PJ Rafferty and Jackson Reilly (Churchton, Md./Southern) traded goals 1:23 apart for a 6-3 game with 8:30 to play in the second quarter, three different Aggies scored in the final 6:08, including Ben Napieralski in the final 30 seconds, to draw the visitors even at the break.
• Back-to-back Conklin goals two minutes apart put McDaniel back in front with 8:38 showing in the third quarter. Just 31 seconds later, Brookhart netted his second of the day before Archambault found the top-right corner for a 10-6 lead with 33.7 seconds remaining.
• Rafferty found Brett Ziegler with 5:30 to play in the fourth quarter before a Matt Waibel unassisted tally 67 seconds later set the final margin.
