WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel went on a 10-1 run to open up a nine-goal lead after three quarters and defeat Muhlenberg 19-9 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse action on Saturday.

Timothy McNichol (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) led the Green Terror (6-8, 1-5 CC) with three goals and two assists – one of three hat tricks on the day for McDaniel.

The teams traded goals early before Scott Fayan and Steven Chenworth scored 24 seconds apart for a 3-2 edge with 4:16 to play in the opening period.

McDaniel started the second quarter man-up after an illegal crosse was called on Muhlenberg. The Green Terror, however, were later flagged for a pair of penalties during the three-minute time to give the Mules a man-up situation and Bobby McGoughlin converted with 13:11 remaining for a 4-2 lead.

Jared Payne (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) started a three-goal run by McDaniel to take a 5-4 edge with 1:58 to play in the second quarter.

Feaster responded 43 seconds later before Mike Long (Hampstead, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) finished from Troy Becker (Yardley, Pa./Notre Dame) for a man-up goal with 37 ticks remaining in the opening half, giving the hosts a one-goal lead at half and shifting momentum.

Payne netted his second of the game 1:34 into the second to start a 9-1 quarter.

McNichol scored all three of his goals during the period and Carson Marshall (Brookeville, Md./Glenelg) scored two of his three. Dylan Chaikin (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) also completed his hat trick in the quarter.

Fayan and Feaster scored six seconds apart to close the deficit to 15-8 with 13:23 to play but Alex Hanna (Odenton, Md./Arundel) started another three-goal flurry to make it a 10-goal lead with 3:16 remaining.

Will Walter and Jackson Balkin (Buffalo, N.Y./Saint Joseph's Collegiate Institute) traded markers in the final 1:24 to set the final score.
