Box Score FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg scored eight straight goals, holding McDaniel off the board for more than 38 minutes and registering a 10-5 non-conference men's lacrosse victory on Wednesday.
Quinn Lykens (Baltimore, Md./Towson) led the Green Terror (3-2) with two goals and two assists.
Keegan Colegrove paced the Bobcats (3-2) with three goals and an assist.
Colegrove and Cooper Archambault (Wayland, Mass./Wayland) traded goals on each team's respective first shot in the game's opening 2:48.
Colegrove finished a pass from Jimmy Lucas just 1:11 into the game before Archambault finished from Lykens 1:31 later.
Lucas finished a Justin Carroll feed with 8:08 to play in the opening quarter for a 2-1 advantage after the first quarter.
Lykens then went back-to-back over the first 5 minutes, 51 seconds of the second quarter to give McDaniel a 3-2 edge.
With 8:20 to play in the second quarter, Jake Bowing finished a solo run to tie the game and start the eight-goal run.
Jake Howarth scored with 5:43 showing in the second quarter to give Frostburg a one-goal lead at the break.
Colegrove scored with 10:15 to play in the third period before finding Lucas with 5:48 showing.
Another Colegrove tally opened the fourth-quarter scoring with 13:00 to play. The lead swelled to 10-3 before Carson Marshall (Brookeville, Md./Glenelg) scored twice in the final 31 seconds, the second coming on a feed from Lykens.
Will Kroppe (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) led the defense six ground balls and five caused turnovers while Robert Breed (Medway, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) added four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
The Green Terror returns to action at home against Albright on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
