Troy Becker (Yardley, Pa./Notre Dame) led the Green Terror (0-3) in its home opener with two goals and an assist.
Michael Morgan paced the Gophers (2-1) with three goals and an assist, including the game-winning goal with 1:04 to play.
Becker opened the scoring, finishing a feed from Jason Lawrence (Fallston, Md./Fallston) just 1:02 into the game.
Owen Demmerly evened the game for Goucher with 6:45 to play in the opening quarter.
Morgan finished a solo run 2:48 into the second quarter for a 2-1 edge before Patrick Huckenpoehler (Baltimore, Md./Towson) finished a Harry Caufield (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J./Bergen Catholic) to even the score just 1:35 later.
A Lawrence man-up tally from Becker just over two minutes later gave McDaniel a one-goal edge.
Demmerly fed Morgan before finishing his own solo run for a pair of Gopher goals in a 49-second span to put the visitors back in front by one at the break.
Conner Annunziato stretched the lead to 5-3 early in the third quarter before Zach Monzo (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) scored off a Timothy McNichol (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) assist with 8:36 showing for the only third-quarter scoring.
McNichol found the back of the net 2:21 into the fourth quarter to even the game at 5-all before Mason Gorman and Becker traded tallies 1:16 apart to keep the game tied.
Morgan ripped a wide-open shot from distance with 1:04 to play for the game-winning tally.
Zach Bicho (Millstone, N.J./The Hun School of Princeton) went 10 of 15 on faceoffs and picked up five ground balls.
Eric Ritchie (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) made nine saves in goal for the Green Terror.
McDaniel returns to action at Marywood on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m.
