Timothy McNichol (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) led the Green Terror (1-1) with four goals and two assists, including the game-winning goal with 2:44 to play.
Owen Demmerly paced the Gophers (3-2) with four goals of his own.
Tied at 7-all, Demmerly netted his eight marker of the year to put Goucher in front 8-7 with 11:31 to play.
Nearly four minutes later, McNichol found Troy Becker (Yardley, Pa./Notre Dame) for the equalizer.
Late in a man-down situation, Alec Schunk (Morristown, N.J./Morristown) hit McNichol, who finished for the go-ahead marker.
Becker and McNichol finished solo runs in the game's first 7:01 to stake McDaniel to a 2-0 lead.
Demmerly finished a man-down tally with 7:15 to play in the opening quarter before Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) reestablished the two-goal advantage with 5:01 on the clock.
Sam Morgan made it a one-goal game after one period before McNichols opened the second quarter with a pair of goals three minutes apart to push the lead to 5-2 with 10:27 showing.
Four straight Gopher unassisted goals, including two by Demmerly, gave the hosts a 6-5 edge at the break.
Bivons and Morgan traded tallies in the third quarter before Bivons completed his hat trick and made it 7-all with 12:46 to play in the final period.
Zach Bicho (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) went 12-for-21 at the X with nine ground balls.
Eric Ritchie (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage) finished with eight saves.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Marywood on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m.
