Box Score FERRUM, Va. – McDaniel raced out to a 7-1 lead after one quarter en route to a 14-6 victory over Ferrum in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday.
Calvin Fleagle (Forest Hill, Md./Bel Air) led the Green Terror (3-2), establishing a career best with five goals and two assists.
Tyler Poage paced the Panthers (2-6) with two goals.
Ryan Weiss (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) opened the scoring for McDaniel, finishing a Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) assist just 1:38 into the game.
Bivons found the back of the net 1:21 later to double the advantage before Fleagle finished a solo run to start his day with 11:32 on the clock.
Tyler Fullem broke up the shutout with 9:00 on the clock before Fleagle finished from Bivons to start a five-goal run.
Bivons hit Timothy McNichol (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) before Fleagle completed his hat trick with 3:06 remaining in the first quarter.
Jason Lawrence (Fallston, Md./Fallston) capped the first-quarter scoring with 10 ticks left before McNichol finished a solo run three minutes into the second quarter.
Ferrum scored four of the next six goals to draw within 10-5 after three quarters before McNichol and Fleagle each finished solo runs in the first 5:45 of the final quarter to stretch the lead back to seven en route to the eight-goal win.
Zach Bicho (Millstone, N.J./The Hun School of Princeton) won 13 of 22 faceoffs with eight ground balls.
The Green Terror returns to action at Frostburg on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
