Box Score YORK, Pa. – York (Pa.) scored six straight goals to turn a 3-2 deficit early in the second quarter into an 8-3 lead 15 minutes later en route to a 13-7 victory over McDaniel in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday.
Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) led the Green Terror (0-3) with three goals while Zach Bicho (Millstone, N.J./The Hun School of Princeton) added a goal and an assist and won 13 of the 17 faceoffs he took.
Tyler Davis paced the Spartans (3-1) with six goals and an assist.
Trailing 2-1 after the first quarter, Bicho won the faceoff to start the second quarter and quickly hit Patrick Serio (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) to even the game five seconds into the period.
Just 65 seconds later, Matt Dupras (Hillborough, N.J./Immaculata) found Bivons for a 3-2 lead.
Davis needed just 64 seconds to even the game, finishing a solo run for his second of the day.
After Andrew Gamble found Tyler Hutson with 11:37 to play in the quarter, Davis finished back-to-back markers for a 6-3 lead with 3:34 showing.
Dakota Randall finished a solo run to stretch the lead to 7-3 with 1:25 remaining in the first half.
Hutson scored 42 seconds into the second half to push the lead to five before Sean Brett (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) snapped a 15-minute, 22-second drought.
Two more Davis goals pushed the lead to 10-4 with 4:41 on the clock before Taylor Tolbert picked up the ball and raced down to the field to stretch the advantage to seven just over a minute later.
Bivons finished a wraparound move 1:13 into the fourth quarter before Randall converted on a man-up opportunity with 9:05 to play.
Bicho won the ensuing faceoff – part of a 6-for-6 fourth quarter for the rookie – and went right to goal for his first career tally six seconds later.
Troy Becker (Yardley, Pa./Notre Dame) added his first collegiate goal 1:37 later with a man-up tally from Dupras.
Alex Millard capped the scoring, finishing a man-up goal with 3:07 on the clock.
Bicho added nine ground balls while Drew Cortese (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) had two ground balls and two caused turnovers to lead the defense.
McDaniel returns to action at home against Goucher on Wednesday. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
