Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury, ranked fourth in the latest
USILA Division III coaches poll, jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the
game's first 6:52 en route to a 20-5 non-conference men's lacrosse
victory over McDaniel on Wednesday.
Jason
Lawrence (Fallston, Md./Fallston) led the Green Terror (0-2)
with a goal and two assists.
Luke Phipps paced the Sea Gulls (4-0) with four goals, including
the game's first tally 1:10 into the contest.
Rhett DePol, who assisted on Phipps' first goal, stretched the
lead to 2-0 just 1:45 later before Thomas Cirillo finished a solo
run with 10:15 showing in the first stanza.
DePol found Phipps for a second tally with 8:08 showing before
Mike Kane and Cirillo stretched the advantage to 6-0 with 5:01 to
play in the opening period.
Two DePol markers pushed the lead to 10-0 with 5:20 to play in
the first half before Matt Dupras
(Hillsborough, N.J./Immaculata) got McDaniel on the board off the
first of Lawrence's helpers with 49 seconds to play before the
break.
Salisbury pushed the lead to 13-1 midway through the third
quarter before Pat Bivons
(Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) anad Lawrence, who scored
man-up off a Bivons feed, made it a 13-3 gaem with 2:10 to play in
the stanza.
Sean Fitzgerald pushed the lead to 11 after three quarters,
scoring with 50 ticks remaining.
The Sea Gull advantage swelled to 16-3 before a Zach Monzo
(Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) tally with 11:01 showing.
Patrick
Serio (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) scored the final
Green Terror goal with 4:43 showing.
Trey Hunt
III (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville) won six faceoffs and had
four ground balls.
McDaniel returns to action at York (Pa.) on Saturday. Game time
is 12 p.m.
