Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel put together a six-goal second quarter en route to a 13-7 victory over Swarthmore in Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse action on Wednesday.

Pat Woglom (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) and Zach Monzo (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) scored four goals apiece to lead the Green Terror (4-9, 1-4 CC), who finished the game with a 48-28 advantage in shots.

Ian Lukaszewicz led the Garnet (3-7, 2-2 CC) with two goals and an assist.

Tied at 1-all after Monzo and Wes Marcik traded tallies in the first quarter, Jason Lawrence (Fallston, Md./Fallston) scored 57 seconds into the second quarter to give McDaniel the lead for good.

Woglom pushed the lead to 3-1 just 14 seconds later before Lukaszewicz cut the deficit to one at the 12:39 mark.

Lawrence started a four-goal burst that pushed the lead to 7-2 with 6:27 showing.

Monzo tallies twice and Woglom added one goal during the run. Lawrence also had one of his two assists.

After Lukaszewicz cut the deficit to 7-3 on a close-range shot with 2:02 to play, the Green Terror was flagged for an unreleasable unsportsmanlike penalty that gave the ball to Swarthmore.

The Garnet capitalized with a Molloy marker 12 seconds into the man-up situation before tacking on a second man-up score with 1:07 to play when Steve Selverian finished a Molloy helper to trim the halftime deficit to 7-5.

Back-to-back Woglom tallies 44 seconds apart pushed the lead to 9-5 with 9:29 on the clock before Monzo finished one of three Skippy Clary (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) assists with 3:05 to play for a 10-5 advantage.

Selverian scored with 0.6 seconds showing on the third-quarter clock to make it a 10-6 game before Lawrence, Sean Brett (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) and Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) stretched the lead to 13-6 with 5:19 to play.

Marcik set the final margin, scoring with 4:21 on the clock.

Ryan Gillen (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) went 12-for-18 on faceoffs as part of a 14-for-22 showing at the X for the Green Terror.

Matt Dupras (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) matched Clary with a team-high three assists.

McDaniel returns to action at Muhlenberg on Saturday. Game time is 4 p.m.
