Bivons scores five times

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel used a 4-0 first quarter to key a 19-10 victory over Marywood in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday.

Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) netted five goals to lead the offensive outburst for the Green Terror (2-4) while Pat Woglom (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) added four goals.

Riley Dobel led the Pacers (0-4) with a pair of goals.

Zach Monzo (Collegeville, Pa./Spring Ford) and Woglom staked McDaniel to a 2-0 lead before back-to-back Bivons tallies made it a 4-0 game after the first quarter.

Tallies from Brandon Terlizzi and Dobel in the first 49 seconds of the second quarter cut the deficit in half before Bivons scored off the first of four Jason Lawrence (Fallston, Md./Fallston) assists with 13:10 showing.

Greg Nestor responded just 1:13 later to close the deficit back to two before a pair of Lawrence-to-Bivons tallies 44 seconds apart pushed the lead to 7-3 with 9:43 on the clock.

Dobel finished a solo run 1:21 later before a Woglom marker and two Skippy Clary (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) tallies in the final 3:35 of the first half pushed the advantage to 10-4 at the break.

Monzo finished off a pass from Woglom nearly five minutes into the second quarter for an 11-4 lead.

Michael Squillante and Sam Trill tallied around a Lawrence goal to trim the margin to 12-6 after three quarters before McDaniel reeled off seven of the game's next nine goals.

Michael Woglom (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) and Dylan Swope traded goals 20 seconds apart to open the final frame before Pat Woglom converted man-up with 6:28 showing.

Daniel Anderson responded with 4:33 to play before two Patrick Serio (Marriottsville, Md./Marriottsville) goals keyed a 5-0 run. Colin Campbell (Malvern, Pa./Strath Haven) had two assists in the stretch.

Ryan Hennessy (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) registered his first career goal during the span, scoring unassisted with 2:33 to play.

Goals by Richie Manuli and Brian Madine in the final minute set the final margin.

Christian Dallmus (Acton, Mass./The Rivers School) made 15 saves in the first 54 minutes of action between the pipes for the Green Terror, who finished with a 59-36 advantage in shots.

McDaniel returns to action at home against No.3 Lynchburg on Wednesday. Game time is 7 p.m.
