Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel jumped out to a 9-0 lead after the first quarter en route to a 15-8 victory over Farmingdale State in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday.

Freshman Jason Lawrence (Fallston, Md./Fallston) and sophomore Sean Brett (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) each registered a career-high four goals to pace the Green Terror (3-5), who also got three goals and two assists from Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) during the decisive first quarter.

Matthew Finn led the Rams (1-4) with four goals while Jason Opitz had two goals and two assists.

Bivons set the tone early, scoring unassisted 59 seconds into the game and then doubling the advantage off a Skippy Clary (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) feed 1:18 later.

Ryan Weiss (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) found Zach Monzo (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) with 11:30 to play for a 3-0 lead.

Lawrence made it 4-0 at the 7:15 mark, finishing Monzo's first career assist.

Bivons found Lawrence for a 5-0 lead, starting a five-goal flurry in the period's final 3:29.

Bivons needed just eight seconds to score off a Patrick Serio (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) assist.

Two Brett goals, including a man-up tally with 36 seconds left, around a Lawrence tally capped the progam's most offensive quarter since tallying nine in the second period of a 24-5 win over Hood on Apr. 4, 2007.

A Clary-to-Lawrence man-up tally with 1:54 to play in the first half accounted for the lone second-quarter goal.

Tom Hartmann got Farmingdale on the board 1:33 into the second half before Ryan Corbett netted his first collegiate marker to make it a 10-2 game with 10:32 showing.

Pat Woglom (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) finished a solo run with 10:09 to play before Opitz hit the back of the net with a man-up goal with 5:49 showing.

Four straight McDaniel tallies, including two from Brett, stretched the lead to 15-3 with 12:25 to play in the fourth quarter.

Four straight Finn goals in an 8-minute, 48-second span made it a 15-7 game with 1:15 showing before Opitz converted the fourth Ram man-up tally with 47 seconds on the clock.

Ryan Gillen (Merrick, N.Y./Merrick) won eight of the 12 faceoffs he took for the Green Terror, who won 15 of 26 as a team. Gillen, Ryan Hennessy (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) and Zac Bitzer (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks) had five ground balls each while Alex McCoy (Clarksville, Md./Atholton) caused five turnovers.

McDaniel returns to action in the Centennial Conference opener at Washington (Md.) on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
