DiBernardo scores two and two

Box Score

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel used a 4-0 run in the third quarter to key a 10-8 Centennial Conference (CC) men's lacrosse victory over Muhlenberg on Saturday.

Nick DiBernardo (Towson, Md./Calvert Hall) led the Green Terror (6-6, 2-3 CC) to its second straight win with two goals and two assists.

Jack Reilly led the Mules (2-9, 0-5 CC) with two goals.

Trailing 5-4 at the break, DiBernardo capitalized on a pair of third-period man-up opportunities to turn the one-goal deficit into a one-goal lead midway through the quarter.

Michael Young (Pylesville, Md./North Harford) found DiBernardo with 12:53 to play before Matt Dupras (Hillsborough, N.J./Immaculata) hit the senior with 7:38 showing.

JS Duke (Fort Washington, Md./DeMatha) finished a Jimmy Gibbons (Galesville, Md./Southern) feed just 1:07 later to stretch the lead to 7-5.

Skippy Clary (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) found Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) with 2:53 remaining in the period for an 8-5 lead.

Corey Aferiat finished a man-up tally with 10:49 to play in the fourth quarter before Ryan Gillen (Merrick, N.Y./Calhoun) won the ensuing faceoff and went straight to goal to reestablish the three-goal edge.

Michael Woglom (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) finished a solo run to push the lead to four with 1:56 remaining but Jack Reilly scored directly off the next faceoff and then converted a man-up goal with 34 seconds to play for the final margin.

After a three-hour delay due to an administrative error with the officials' schedule, the Green Terror jumped quickly for a 3-0 lead.

DiBernardo found Dupras for the game's first tally 2:46 into the contest.

Gibbons hit Bivons to stretch the advantage to 2-0 with 6:19 remaining in the period before DiBernardo connected with Young for a man-up tally with 1:52 on the clock.

Jonathan Fritog scored with 28 seconds remaining in the stanza to get the visitors on the board.

A Woglom-from-Bivons tally 1:04 into the second period stretched the lead to 4-1 before the Mules tallied the final four goals of the first half.

Four different Muhlenberg players scored, including Alex Ardolino and Doug Rheiner in the final 47 seconds of the half.

Brad Motley (Fallston, Md./Fallston) made 10 saves in his first start between the pipes this season. Ryan Hennessy (Corning, N.Y./Corning East) led the defense with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
