Luke Wood was named Centennial Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
Wood is the first Green Terror earn conference weekly honors since current assistant coach
Joey Hubinger was named Athlete of the Week on April 30, 2024. He is the first pitcher of the week selection for the team since Jack Vener was honored on April 13, 2021.
McDaniel has had six player of the week selections in five seasons under head coach
Jim Carone. Five of those have been first years. Junior
Shea McKenna as named player of the week on Feb. 27, 2024, junior
Patrick Kelly was selected on March 12, 2024, senior
Ben Davis was honored on Feb. 21, 2023, and graduate student
Shane Daly earned the award on March 22, 2022.
Wood improved to 3-0 this season after scattering four hits over 6.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a 2-1 road win at No. 4 Salisbury as the Green Terror recorded their first-ever win over a top 5 team and first against the Sea Gulls.
McDaniel travels to Wilson today for a non-conference contest against the Phoenix in Chambersburg, Pa. First pitch is at 3 p.m.
