LANCASTER, Pa. - McDaniel College men's cross country senior Jack Sears was named Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

Sears is the first Green Terror to be honored with the conference's weekly award since Gavin Gibson '19 was honored for the second consecutive week on Sept. 24, 2018.

Sears placed fourth in the 8K at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, setting a new program course record with a time of 26:08.9. His time broke the school course record set by Gibson in 2016 by 38 seconds. Sears also turned in the 18th fastest 8K time in school history and now holds five of the top 20 times in program history.

In three-plus season, Sears owns 10 program course records, including four in the 8K.

McDaniel returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Jack Saint Clair Memorial at Belmont Plateau.
