GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Highlighted by another record-breaking performance by senior
Jack Sears, the McDaniel College men's cross country team competed at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday.
The Green Terror finished 18th out of 34 teams with 555 points. Lebanon Valley won the race with 56 points while Clay Peets, from Division I St. Bonaventure, won the individual race in a course record time of 23:56.8.
Sears placed sixth overall among 316 runners in the 8K race with a school-record time and personal best of 24:55.2
, breaking his previous school record by 24 seconds. He is the first McDaniel runner to post a sub-25 minute time in an 8K race.
Sears was the third collegiate finisher and the second Division III runner to cross the finish line. He also broke his own program course record at Gettysburg.
Every runner for McDaniel set a personal-best in the 8K. First-year
Isaac Greeson was the second Green Terror to cross the line in 28:01.0 while senior
Ethan Bush posted a time of 28:36.2. First-year
Sam Favazza ran a time of 29:43.8 and junior
Zac Kane followed in 30:21.2.

Fabrizzio Verano Valderrama finished in 31:35.1 and first-year
Ethan Reyes and senior
Simon Greenberg rounded out the team's efforts in 33:11.7 and 33:49.9, respectively.
McDaniel returns to the same course in two weeks for the 2025 Centennial Conference Cross Country Championships.
