PORTLAND, Ore. - McDaniel College men's cross country senior
Jack Sears competed at the 2025 USATF Cross Country Championships on Saturday, December 6 at Glendoveer Golf Course.
Sears placed 24th in the 2k race with a new personal record time of 6:20.9.
The field included many professional and elite runners, including Ethan Strand and Craig Engels who have competed at past World Championships. Strand, who won the race for Swoosh TC (Nike) with a time of 5:25.8, is a World Championship qualifier, former standout and NCAA champion at the University of North Carolina, and holds two NCAA records.
Engels was the 2019 US national champion in the 1500m and won the mile at the 2019 USATF Indoor Championships mile. He finished eighth with a time of 5:37.9.
Running unattached, Wes Porter, an NCAA Champion at the University of Virginia, finished second in a time of 5:26.5. He also qualified for the World Championships.
