NEW ORLEANS, La. - The McDaniel College men's and women's cross country were honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for academic and athletic success.
The women's team was selected as an All-Academic Team for the 2025 NCAA Division III Cross Country season with a 3.34 team grade-point average (GPA). The Green Terror were honored for the ninth time since the USTFCCCA began honoring academic success in 1995-96.
On the men's side, senior
Jack Sears was selected as an All-Academic Athlete for the third year in-a-row.
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
Sears had a 3.685 GPA following the Fall 2025 semester and finished 30th at the 2025 NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Championship, the program's highest finish at the event. He crossed the line with a time of 26:10.73 which was the second-best performance on the Big Spring Course in program history.
