WESTMINSTER, Md. - On Thursday, the McDaniel College women's soccer team was receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Division III Top 25 Preseason Poll.

It marks the second-straight year that the Green Terror have been mentioned in the preseason poll as they were also receiving votes in 2024. The team finished the 2024 season receiving votes after posting a 12-5-3 record and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

McDaniel has been ranked in each of the last four seasons, climbing as high as No. 13 a year ago on Sept. 10, 2024 after starting the season unbeaten in its first four games with a 3-0-1 record. The team's highest national ranking came on Oct. 12, 2021 when it was placed at No. 7 en route to winning its first Centennial Conference championship.

Two Green Terror opponents were ranked in the preseason poll with both contests at home against No. 8 Messiah and No. 5 Johns Hopkins. McDaniel hosts the Falcons on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and the Blue Jays on Wednesday, Sept. 24.

The Green Terror have won the last two meetings with Messiah at home, 1-0 on Sept. 13, 2023 when the Falcons were ranked No. 1, and 1-0 on Sept. 15, 2021. McDaniel also won the last meeting with Johns Hopkins at home, 1-0 on Oct. 25, 2023.

McDaniel opens the 2025 season in just 14 days when it makes the short trip to Goucher for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
