ASHLAND, Va. - Led by first-year
Alaina Miller, the McDaniel College women's soccer team scored three unanswered goals in a 3-1 road win over Randolph-Macon Wednesday at Nunnally Field.
The Green Terror (2-0-1) remained unbeaten in two all-time meetings in Ashland and improved to 2-1-1 in four match-ups with the Yellow Jackets.
Miller scored the first two goals of her career after Randolph-Macon struck first just 16 minutes in.
The Yellow Jackets (0-2) took the first four shots of the game and led 1-0 before McDaniel settled in and held an 18-6 advantage in shots over the final 72 minutes while scoring three times. The visitors also held a 5-0 edge in corner kicks.
Trailing 1-0, the Green Terror tied the game with 8:11 remaining in the opening half when junior
Alexis Keller-Posen scored her first goal of the season off an assist from sophomore
Lauren Green. Keller-Posen, an All-Centennial Conference defender a year ago, picked up her second career goal in 22 games at McDaniel while Green picked up her first career assist.
The Green Terror struck quickly to start the second half as Miller scored her first career goal and what proved to be the game winning tally just over three minutes in.
Miller wasn't done as she netted her second goal just four minutes later on a rebound following a shot by first-year
Chloe Workman that was saved by Randolph-Macon's Maeve Konstantoulas.
Sophomore
Mack Langlo made three saves to remain unbeaten in three starts this season, including two in the second half as McDaniel held a 13-4 margin in shots and took all four corners. She allowed just one goal in 270 minutes this season for a 0.33 goals-against average while making five saves for an .833 save percentage. She also has two wins and two shutouts.
The Green Terror begin a two-game home stand on Saturday when they host York College of Pennsylvania at the Soccer Complex beginning at noon.
