Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Women's Soccer Suffers First Home Loss, 2-0 to York (PA)

WESTMINSTER, Md. - York (Pa.) scored a goal in each half and limited the McDaniel College women's soccer team to just three shots as the Spartans posted a 2-0 victory Saturday at the Soccer Complex.

The Green Terror (2-1-1) suffered just their sixth loss in 42 games at home since 2021. The team has a record of 30-6-6 during that time.

York held a 14-3 advantage in shots and a 10-3 edge in corner kicks. McDaniel sophomore Mack Langlo made two saves in the first half before giving way to first-year Sierra Ruehl who also had two in her first career appearance.

The Spartans (3-1) scored on their first shot in the 10th minute when Carissa Baugus scored on a shot from the top of the box about 25 yards out on a pass from Anna Sis.

Sis assisted on both goals for the visitors as she sent a centering pass to the top of the goal box in the 55th minute to Meg Kalthof who buried it in lower left corner for her team-leading third goal of the season.

York had nine shots in the second half, but put just three on goal as Ruehl stopped two and two were blocked by defenders in front.

The loss snapped a nine-game unbeaten streak for the Green Terror in the series and was the Spartans' first win since Sept. 11, 2013.

McDaniel returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts No. 8 Messiah beginning at 4 p.m. The Green Terror have won the last two meetings against the Falcons in Westminster, both coming by 1-0 margins in 2021 and 2023.
