Titus to Represent U.S. at United World Beach Championships

WESTMINSTER, Md. - McDaniel College women's wrestling sophomore Rowan Titus will represent the United States at the 2025 United World Beach Wrestling Championships in Katerini, Greece Sept. 25-26.

Titus participated in the U20 +70kg and Senior +70kg divisions at the 2025 USA Wrestling Beach Nationals on May 10 in Carolina Beach, NC. She will also wrestle in both divisions at the World Championships.

The senior competition is part of the Beach Wrestling World Series with stops in Greece; Monterrey, Mexico; Porec, Croatia; Casablanca, Morocco; and Alexandria, Egypt.

In U20, Titus will be teammates with junior Jocelyn Cacek and sophomore Lorelei Hartman, both of whom competed for Frostburg State University this past season. Cacek is a native of Lexington Park, Md. who led the Bobcats with 33 wins this season, including 23 falls, placed first at the Region IV National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships (NCWWC) and was a national qualifier.

In the Senior division, Titus will be joined by Eli Bommarito, a senior at Alma College and sophomore Erin Kremer of Washington State University. Bommarito has won six golds and two bronzes in beach and is the two-time defending world champion after wins in 2023 and 2024. Kremer won the 240-pound national championship at the National Collegiate Wrestling Association Championships.

Titus was a starter at 207 pounds during the inaugural season for the Green Terror in 2024-25. She competed at the NCWWC Region II Championships and picked up her first career win with a fall against Randolph College in the program's first-ever dual meet victory on Jan. 5.

"Rowan has grown considerably as a wrestler since I first met her as a high school competitor," said Assistant Head Coach John Lowe. "This opportunity is an awesome one, and will no doubt lead to even more development on her part. This kind of experience and world travel is the kind of thing you can't put a price on."
