YORK, Pa. - First-year
Morgan Linton finished third at 180 pounds to lead the McDaniel College women's wrestling team at the New Standard Invitational hosted by York College of Pennsylvania inside M&T Bank Field House on Saturday.
The Green Terror finished eighth out of 14 teams with 37 points. Western New England took home the team title with 171 points. Ursinus was second with 133 points.
Linton posted a 5-1 record with all five wins coming by fall. She began her day with a fall over Mount Union's Lori Grimes in 2:07 before falling to Western New England's Atiyana Williams who is ranked second in region 1.
Linton rebounded to finish her day with four consecutive wins, including her second fall over Grimes in just 35 seconds in the third-place match. Linton now leads the team with 12 wins this season.
First-year
Ariana Carnahan, who is second on the team with 11 wins, finished with three at 117 pounds on Saturday, including one by fall and one by technical superiority. She opened with back-to-back wins before falling to Eastern's Josey Wehr who is ranked fourth in region 2.
Carnahan recorded her third win by decision, 9-6, over Hailey Beck of New Jersey City who is ranked second in region 1.

McDaniel returns to action next Sunday, Dec. 14 at the Terrier Round Robin hosted by Hiram College. Competition begins at noon.
