DOVER, Del. - First-year Kayla Carter posted two wins as the McDaniel College women's wrestling team split a tri-match at Delaware State on Sunday with the host Hornets and Wilkes.

The Green Terror (7-8) defeated Wilkes in the opener, 34-15, before falling to Delaware State, 38-5. It was the first-ever home match for the Division I Hornets.

Carter received a forfeit in the opener against the Colonels (2-6) before picking up McDaniel's lone win against Delaware State with a tech fall over Christina Lisboa, 10-0 in 4:01.

First-year Morgan Linton earned six points for the Green Terror, recording her 16th win and 11th fall this season against Wilkes.

The Colonels won three of the first five matches in the opener to take a 15-9 lead before McDaniel won the final five matches, including three by fall and two by forfeit to pick up its seventh win of the season.

First-year McKenzie Koon improved to 2-0 in the new year and picked up her first career fall with a pin of Lily Shymanski in 1:30 at 180 pounds.

After a double forfeit started off the match against the host Hornets (3-1), Delaware State won the first eight contested matches before Carter concluded the match with a tech fall to provide the final margin.

The Green Terror conclude the regular season at the Bobcat Open hosted by Frostburg State on Saturday, February 7.
