Kayla Carter and sophomore
Taylor Mead were each place winners to lead the McDaniel College women's wrestling team at the Wilkes Open on Sunday at the McHale Athletic Center.
The Green Terror finished seventh ouf of 30 teams, totaling 68 points. Felician took the team title with 131.5 points, 18 ahead of second-place Eastern.
Carter advanced to the finals at 180 pounds, posting a 4-1 record with all four wins coming by fall. She advanced to the final with a win by fall in 1:48 over the fifth-ranked wrestler in region 3, Alvernia's Macenzie Hunter. Carter began the day with a fall in just 10 seconds againstÂ

Mead also posted a record of 4-1 at 145 pounds, advancing to the semifinals before falling to Eastern's Zoey Haines, the top-ranked wrestler in region 2. The fifth-ranked wrestler in region 3, Mead responded with a win by technical superiority in the consolation semifinals before winning by fall in 2:39 over Lina Lockard in the third-place match.
First-year
Alex Adams had three wins at 138 pounds, posting a 3-2 record with a fall in 27 seconds over Kean's Celine Asare.
First yearsÂ
Ariana Carnahan and
Morgan Linton each totaled two wins at 117 and 180 pounds, respectively. Each had one win by technical superiority and one by fall.
McDaniel will make its home debut next Sunday, Nov. 23 in the Sam Case Classic when it hosts a tri-match with Randolph and Cedar Crest beginning at noon.
