LANCASTER, Pa. - The McDaniel College men's track & field team started off the Centennial Conference indoor Track & Field Championships with four scorers and two qualifiers on day one at Franklin & Marshall.
The Green Terror sit in ninth place with 10 points after the first day. Johns Hopkins is leading the way with 64 points.
Senior Kyle Hubbard won the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 8.76 seconds to advance to the finals. He now ranks third in program history in the event.
Sophomore Roman Arensmeyer placed 10th with a personal best time of 9.24 seconds, the 10th-fastest time in program history. Senior Alex Brown placed 12th with a time of 9.37 seconds.
The 4x800-meter relay team of junior Ethan Bush, junior Jack Sears, senior Anders Madsen, and graduate student Tyler Richardson placed fifth with a time of 8:10.12. They now rank seventh in program history.
Brown placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 13.23m (43' 5"), the ninth-best mark in program history. Junior Christian Homer placed 13th at 12.42m (40' 9").
Senior Oral-Anthony Coleman placed seventh in the 60-meter dash prelims with a time of 7.09 seconds to advance to the Sunday's finals. Freshman Robert Wood placed 28th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.54 seconds.
The distance medley relay team of Richardson, Bush, Sears, and freshman Amadeus Davis ran a time of 10:55.48 to place seventh.
Junior Jayden Rodwell placed eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.47m (44' 2.5") to rank him fourth in program history. Senior Jacob Graham placed 14th with a mark of 12.87m (42' 2.75") and junior AJ Iglesias placed 16th with a mark of 12.16m (39' 10.75"). Sophomore Jacob Gibson placed 18th with a mark of 11.43m (37' 6").
The 4x200-meter relay team of Brown, Coleman, Hubbard, and senior Kyle Silver placed eighth with a time of 1:34.73.
Graduate student Nick Raumann placed 26th in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:24.36.
McDaniel concludes competition at the conference meet on Sunday at Franklin & Marshall.
