Lancaster, PA – The men's indoor track & field team opened their season at the Diplomat Open at Franklin & Marshall College.
Senior Ethan Bush placed fifth in the 400 meters with a time of 53.40. He also placed fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.84. Bush qualified for the Centennial Conference Championships in both events. Senior Simon Greenberg ran 2:33.61 to place 34th.
First-year David Smith placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 1.80m. He moves to sixth in program history. Senior Keiron Wilson placed 18th with a mark of 1.70m. Both hit the conference standard.
Wilson placed seventh in triple jump with a mark of 12.41m, qualifying him for the conference championship.
Junior Roman Arensmeyer ran 9.43 in the 60 meter hurdles to place 13th. He qualified for the conference championship.
Smith placed 13th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.30, qualifying for the conference championship. Sophomore Robert Wood placed 48th with a time of 7.54. Junior Seyi Adelaja placed 56th with a time of 7.61. Freshman Aden Flaherty ran 7.80 to place 65th. Freshman Kyan Hayes ran 8.19, placing 75th.
Graduate student John Geniti jumped 3.55m in pole vault to place 18th and qualify for the conference championship.
Junior Braylon Johnson placed 15th in long jump with a mark of 5.81m. Wilson took 20th with a mark of 5.61m. Flaherty placed 27th with a mark of 5.35m.
First-year Isaac Greeson ran 5:09.53 in the mile to place 24th.
Junior Jacob Gibson placed 33rd in the weight throw with a mark of 10.61m. Junior Jamey Travers took 36th with a mark of 10.31m. Sophomore Darnell Gilliam placed 45th with a mark of 8.75m
Johnson placed 38th in the 200 meters with a time of 24.74. Adelaja ran 24.78 to place 40th. Senior Armani Moya Moore ran 24.90 to place 42nd. Smith placed 43rd with a time of 24.91. Wood placed 56th, running 25.74. Flaherty ran 25.80 to place 57th. Hayes ran 27.17 to place 68th.
Junior Zac Kane ran 18:48.79 in the 5000 meters to place 38th.
Gilliam placed 38th in shot put with a mark of 10.54m. Gibson threw 9.85m to place 47th. Travers threw 8.83m to place 58th. First-year Donovan Lanoue-Chapman placed 62nd with a throw of 7.78m.
McDaniel will return to action for the Cardinal Classic hosted by Catholic on January 17th.
