COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The McDaniel College women's wrestling team concluded the regular season with three matches at Ursinus Saturday against the Bears, Alvernia and Muhlenberg inside Helfferich Hall.

The Green Terror (1-6) began the day with a 30-15 loss to Alvernia before falling to host Ursinus 34-5 and Muhlenberg, 24-16.

Junior Bayleigh Perdue posted three wins on the day while sophomore Maria Samuel had two, both by fall. In addition, freshman Willow Arnold won her McDaniel debut.

In the opener, Alvernia (5-2) jumped out to a 20-5 lead before back-to-back falls by Arnold and Samuel pulled the Green Terror within five. Samuel posted a fall in just 36 seconds over Kathryn Berger at 145 pounds before Arnold won her first match at McDaniel with a fall in just 1:25 over Kayleigh Kehler at 160 pounds.

However, Alvernia won by forfeit at 180 and Peyton Fries, ranked fourth in Region 2, secured a first-period fall over freshman Rowan Titus at 207.

In the next match against Ursinus (13-5), the first for the Green Terror against another team from the Centennial Conference, the host Bears lost the first match by forfeit before winning the four contested matches and three by forfeit.

Olivia Guy, ranked fourth in Region 2 at 110 pounds, secured a fall in 24 seconds against freshman Illana Robinson while Emma Matera, ranked second at 160 pounds, won by technical superiority. Gianna Perez, ranked fifth at 180 pounds, provided the final margin with a fall at 207.

McDaniel's final match came against another Centennial Conference rival and fellow first-year program, Muhlenberg. With the match tied at 15-15 after 160 pounds, the Mules (3-8) won by forfeit at 180 pounds before sealing the win when Margaret Williams won by technical superiority.

Perdue and Robinson each won by forfeit before forfeit wins by Muhlenberg tied the match at 10-10. Samuel picked up her second fall of the day with a pin of Penelope Schneider in just 18 seconds at 145 pounds.

The Green Terror will now have two weeks to prepare for its final competition of the season, the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships. The Region II event will be held in Koehler Fieldhouse at East Stroudsburg University on Sunday, Feb. 23.
