LANCASTER, Pa. - McDaniel College men's basketball senior David Kearney was named Centennial Conference Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.

It is the second career honor for Kearney and second this season for the Green Terror. Kearney was also honored on Feb. 11, 2025 while junior Ryan Shaffer earned his first career selection earlier this season on November 25.

Kearney scored 25 points on 11-of-12 shooting to lead McDaniel to an 80-76 road win over Cairn on December 17. The Green Terror never trailed and fought off a late rally by scoring the final four points over the last 1:08. Kearney also contributed eight rebounds and two steals, and sealed the win with a pair of free throws with two seconds remaining.

Kearney currently leads the team in scoring and rebounding this season, averaging 18.4 points and 7.8 rebounds. He is currently second in the conference in scoring and second in field goal percentage, having made 55-of-106 attempts for 51.9 percent. He is also fourth in free throw percentage at 80.0 percent, having made 28-of-35 attempts.

Kearney's twin brother, senior Matt Kearney, leads the Centennial Conference in free throw percentage at 88.0 percent. (22-of-25).

McDaniel travels to DeSales for the Al Senavitis Memorial Tournament December 28-29. The Green Terror face Gwynedd Mercy in the opener on Sunday, Dec. 28 at 4 p.m.
