LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - On Saturday, junior Jack Sears finished 46th to lead the McDaniel College men's cross country team to its best regional finish in program history at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
The Green Terror placed 16th with a score of 399. Carnagie Mellon won the meet with a score of 39, one point ahead of Johns Hopkins while the Blue Jays' Emmanuel LeBlond won the individual title.
Sears placed 46th with a time of 25:53.7, the fifth-best performance in program history and second-fastest time on the Lock Haven course. Graduate student Nick Raumann placed 53rd after running a 42-second personal best with a time of 25:59.8. He is the sixth runner in program history to run under 26 minutes.
The duo of Sears and Raumann are the first pair in program history to run below 26 in the same season.
Junior Sebby Breton placed 76th with a time of 26:26.4 and ranks as the third-best performer on the Lock Haven course. Graduate student Tyler Richardson placed 100th with a time of 26:52.1 and freshman Amadeus Davis rounded out the top five with a time of 27:52.4.
The top five finishers achieved a new top-five season average that was set a few weeks ago.
Junior Ethan Bush posted a time of 30:27.8 while senior Joc Baldacci had a time of 31:41.7.
