THE SKINNY
Muhlenberg scored twice in the bottom of the first inning and held on for a 3-1 win over McDaniel in the opening round of the 2022 Centennial Conference softball tournament.

THE LEADERS
• Isabella Sylvester (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) led the Green Terror with two hits.

FOR THE FOES
• Kaitlyn Baumann had a hit for the Mules with two RBIs.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Sarah Karmazyn led off the bottom of the first with a double before a one-out Gillian Zach double put runners at second and third. Kaitlyn Baumann followed with a single to right, scoring both runners for a. 2-0 lead.
• Muhlenberg tacked on a run in the home fourth. Kristen Oberg walked before moving up a base on a sacrifice and to third on a groundout. She scored on a Raya Kunes single to left.
• Paytyn Hazelton (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Seminole Ridge) led off the fifth inning with a double before a one-out Isabella Sylvester single through the right scored pinch-runner Julia Dimmick (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) to make it a 3-1 game.
• McDaniel loaded the bases in the sixth with one out but had a leadoff infield chopper in the seventh but could not score.

THE INSIDE STORY
• With the win, Muhlenberg takes on Gettysburg in the winner's bracket game on Friday. McDaniel will take on Swarthmore in the first elimination game.
