WESTMINSTER, Md. – Five seniors were honored for the McDaniel College softball team in a doubleheader loss to conference rival Haverford on Sunday from the Softball Park.

A two-run double from sophomore
Ally McBride highlighted a 7-2 loss for the Green Terror (12-23, 4-12) in the opener to the Fords (25-11, 8-8).
Game 1: Haverford 7, McDaniel 2
Haverford struck first in the third inning with a four-run frame, scoring on two errors, a sacrifice fly and a wild pitch to go ahead 4-0. Three more runs came across to score in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk, a hit-by-pitch and an RBI-single to make the score 7-0 in favor of Haverford.
McBride got McDaniel on the board in the fifth on a two-run double, scoring first years
Erin Thayer and
Gianna Apostolakos to cut the deficit to five. The Green Terror left two runners on base in the sixth inning and went down in order to end the seventh, giving the Fords a 7-2 win in the opener.
McBride went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and junior
Riley Jackson had a two-hit day as well. Guevara, Apostolakos, Thayer and junior
Amy Anderson all collected base hits in the loss.
Sophomore
Cameron Kelly took the loss in the circle, totaling one strikeout, seven walks, four earned runs and three hits in three innings pitched. Anderson tossed four innings in relief, striking out two and walking one while allowing two hits on 63 pitches.
Game 2: Haverford 8, McDaniel 4
The Fords jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning, but McDaniel answered after McBride scored on a throwing error in the bottom half of the inning to make the score 4-1. Haverford tacked on an RBI-double in the third to increase the lead to 5-1.
The Green Terror started a rally in the fourth as junior
Catlin Boden drove in a two-run single to score Thayer and Apostolakos, and Smith scored on a throwing error to cut the deficit ton one, 5-4. The Fords added two insurance runs in the fifth after scoring on a fielding error and an RBI-groundout, making the score 7-4. Haverford tacked on another run in the seventh to cement the 8-4 victory and the doubleheader sweep.
Five Green Terror batters had two hits in the loss while Boden had a hit and two RBIs. Smith went 2-for-4 with a run scored from the leadoff spot while Apostolakos and Thayer each and two hits and scored a run.
Rogers pitched a complete game in the circle, totaling one walk, seven earned runs and 13 hits in 91 pitches thrown.
