THE SKINNY
Swarthmore walked off McDaniel in game one and carried that momentum into a game-two shutout. The Garnet won the opener 3-2 and took game two, 3-0.
THE LEADERS
• Paytyn Hazelton (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Seminole Ridge) accounted for both Green Terror runs on the day with a two-run single in the fourth inning of game one.
• Isabella Sylvester (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) had three hits on the afternoon.
FOR THE FOES
• Alexandra Simon led the Garnet with three hits.
• Meg Ozawa twirled a two-hit shutout in game two with five strikeouts.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Evie Craig (Valby, Denmark/International School of Hellerup) dropped a one-out single into left field in the fourth. Makayla Calamita (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood Area) followed with a double to the gap to put runners at second and third for Paytyn Hazelton, who single back up the middle for a 2-0 lead.
• Kate Hart walked in the fifth before a Cassidy Cheong single and Maya Estrera RBI groundout made it a 2-1 game.
• Alexdra Simon led off the sixth with a double before scoring on a Gwen Glatz single to tie the game.
• In the seventh, an error a pair of groundouts had Laura Hirai at first with two outs. Simon came through with a single to left for the game-winning run.
• In game two, Estrera led off the home first with a single before moving to second on a sacrifice and scoring on a Simon triple for a 1-0 lead.
• The Garnet doubled the lead in the second on back-to-back singles and a first-third double steal.
• An Olivia McClammy double and RBI groundout set the final score in the sixth.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Isabella Sylvester and Evie Craig had two hits each in game one.
