• Emily Paulson (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) led the Green Terror with three goals.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Emma Legacy (Deale, Md./St. Mary's) registered her first collegiate point just 94 seconds into her career, knocking home a rebound off the keeper's pads.
• Legacy then found Yeseniah (Ortiz (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea Regional) to double the lead nearly four minutes later.
• Emma Purcell (Frederick, Md./Urbana) knocked a ball to the back post, where Emily Paulson was there to clean it up for her first tally at the 12:06 mark.
• Off an Amy Richenderfer (Baldwin, Md./Fallston) penalty corner in the 20th minute, Tenley Pelot (Fruitland, Md./Parkside) blasted home the fourth tally of the game from the top of the arc.
• Madge Myers knocked in her own rebound for a 5-0 halftime lead in the 28th minute.
• Paulson scored back-to-back markers in a 4-minute, 47-second span to finish off her hat trick early in the fourth period.
• Morgan Collins (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) beat her defender from the left side and found the cage for an 8-0 lead with 2:53 to play.
• Amanda Sponaugle (Milton, Del./Cape Henlopen) sent a short pass right off the keeper to Myers, who finished for the final margin with 38 ticks remaining.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The Green Terror outshot the Gators 29-1 in the game and had a 12-1 advantage in penalty corners.
• The nine goals were the most scored by McDaniel in a single game since a 10-0 win over Bryn Mawr on Sept. 22, 2007.
• The Green Terror opened the season with a win for the first time since a 7-0 win over Eastern Mennonite in 2015.
• Emily Paulson's hat trick was the first for a McDaniel player since Megan Quattrone on Oct. 6, 2018.
• The nine goals matched the entire offensive output from 2019.
• Six different players scored their first goals for the Green Terror and nine notched their first point.
