MANAHAWKIN, N.J. - McDaniel College field hockey first-year
Grace Legacy was named as a Scholar of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) on Friday.
The NFHCA Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.90 or higher through the fall 2025 semester and were nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.
Legacy posted a 3.925 GPA in her first college semester and was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad on Wednesday. A defender, she played in 17 of the team's 18 games this season while making 11 starts with two goals and one defensive save.
Legacy scored both goals came in a 4-1 win over Wilson on September 17, including the game-winner less than seven minutes into the contest. She recorded her first defensive save at Swarthmore on October 18.
A total of 543 student-athletes were recognized as NFHCA Scholars of Distinction in Division III.
