THE SKINNY STORY
Gettysburg rallied with a six-inning seventh inning in game one 7-6 before completing the sweep of McDaniel with a 9-5 game-two win.

THE LEADERS
Meg Cappadora (Manchester, Md./Manchester Valley) led the Green Terror with four hits on the day, recording a pair of knocks in each game.
• Makayla Calamita (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood Area) added a 3-for-4 game two with three RBIs.

FOR THE FOES
• Giovanna Komst led the Bullets with four hits and two RBIs.
• Jess Campana added four hits of her own, including two doubles as part of her three game-two hits.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After a 1-2-3 top of the first in game one, Michaela Persinger (Emmitsburg, Md./Catoctin) drew a walk to lead off the home half of the frame. Mattie Whalen (Magnolia, N.J./Sterling) added a one-out single to center to put runners at the corners. Myannah Robinson (Cocoa, Fla./Cocoa) was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Meg Cappadora then singled to the fence to score Persinger and Whalen and stake McDaniel to a 2-0 lead. A Paytyn Hazelton (West Palm Beach, Fla./Seminole Ridge) followed with an RBI groundout before a walk and Makayla Calamita RBI single capped a four-run frame.
• Shelby Baker blasted a one-out home run to left-center to cut the margin to 4-1 in the top of the second.
• Persinger led off the fifth with a double before a Megan Horsey (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) seeing-eye single and ensuing misplay restablished the four-run advantage for the Green Terror.
• Allie Cluster led off the top of the seventh with a single that scooted through the left side before a walk put the first two runners on base. Abby Zucatti blasted a 2-1 pitch over the wall in left field to draw the visitors within 5-4. Baily Quinn reached on an infield field before a Giovanna Komst double to left put the go-ahead runs in scoring position and forced a pitching change. Jess Campana used another infield hit to tie the game. After a stolen base and ground out put runners at second and third with one out, Emily Colline was able to put a ball just out of reach of Persinger in right field for a double to give Gettysburg a 7-5 lead.
• With one out in the bottom of the inning, Robinson was hit by a pitch before Cappadora singled back up the middle. After a wild pitch allowed Robinson to take third, an RBI groundout from Hazelton plated Robinson to cut the deficit to one. Madison Fromel (Suffolk, Va./Kings Fork) followed with a single but Megan Hughes got a groundball to strand the winning run on base and pick up the complete-game victory.
• Campana and Olivia Moser blasted back-to-back one-out doubles to stake the Bullets to a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game two.
• Froemel drew a one-out walk in the bottom of the second before a Calamita double, dropped fly ball and Emily Kain (Sykesville, Md./Century) hard-hit single up the middle evened the game.
• Komst doubled to lead off the third before tagging up on a one-out fly ball and scoring on an errant throw for a 2-1 edge.
• Gettysburg sent 10 batters to the plate in the fourth inning and scored five times to open up a 7-1 lead. A Campana double to the left-center fence and Colline double to right were the only extra-base hits of the frame.
• In the home fifth, Horsey drew a leadoff walk before Whalen dropped a ball into shallow left. Hazelton singled through the left side with one out to load the bases before Calamita ripped a double to straightaway center to clear the bases and trim the deficit to 7-4.
• The Bullets tacked on an unearned run in the top of the sixth before Kain blasted a long ball over the scoreboard in left to lead off the bottom of the inning.
• A Julia Schinik double, wild pitch, and Komst single stretched the lead to 9-5 in the top of the seventh. McDaniel loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the inning but Jasmin Herrera got a diving grab in foul territory by Komst to preserve the complete-game win.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Michael Persinger, Mattie Whalen, and Meg Cappadora all had two hits in the first game.
• Cappadora and Emily Kain added two hits each in game two.
• Shannon Musolf (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) fanned four batters with no walks in 3 1/3 innings of relief in game two.
