THE SKINNY
Johns Hopkins, ranked 17th in the latest D3football.com poll, took advantage of four drives in the first quarter that started on the McDaniel side of midfield to build a 27-0 lead en route to a 48-7 victory in the regular-season finale.

THE LEADERS
Matteo DeGennaro (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) led the Green Terror with seven catches for a career-high 117 yards and the lone touchdown of the game.
• Trent Gaskins (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) added 97 yards rushing on 13 carries.

FOR THE FOES
• Ryan Stevens went 12-for-16 for 117 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Blue Jays.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• A 42-yard Harrison Wellman kick return set up the offense's opening drive at the McDaniel 45. Five Danny Wolf runs covered the final 45 yards for a 6-0 lead just 1:36 into the game.
• After forcing a three-and-out, Johns Hopkins took over at midfield and needed just seven plays that Wellman capped with a 17-yard touchdown grab for a 13-0 lead with 9:03 to play in the opening quarter.
• A Joe Tischler interception gave the Blue Jays the ball at the McDaniel 14. After a sack on first day, Stevens hit Ryan Hubley for a 19-yard touchdown and 20-0 lead with 7:15 showing.
• A bad snap gave Johns Hopkins the ball at the Green Terror 21. One play later, Quinn Revere hauled in a 21-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown and 27-0 lead.
• Macaulay Kilbane returned an interception 49 yards for a score and Jacob Chapman paid off a nine-play, 44-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown for a 41-0 halftime lead.
• A Stevens-to-Wellman touchdown capped the Blue Jays' opening possession of the second half for a 48-0 lead with 9:27 showing in the third quarter.
• A 17-yard Matteo DeGennaro touchdown grab broke up the shutout with 2:28 remaining in the period.

THE INSIDE STORY
• McDaniel finished with a 364-235 advantage in total yards.
John Allan Furgeson (Gaithersburg, Md./Damascus) threw the ball 53 times, completing 29 of them for 289 yards.
• Johns Hopkins earned a share of the CC title with the win.
