THE SKINNY STORY
Rowan, ranked 13th in the latest NFCA Div. III coaches' poll, plated six runs in the fourth inning to cap an 11-1 win over McDaniel.
THE LEADERS
• Fiona Johnson (Derwood, Md./Magruder) led the Green Terror with a hit and run scored.
FOR THE FOES
• Jesse DeDomenico led the Profs with a 2-for-2 day and three runs scored. She also had an RBI and walk. She also went the distance in the circle with six strikeouts and no walks.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• Jesse DeDomenico led off the home first with a single. After back-to-back strikeouts, she scored on a Kelly Duffy single for a 1-0 lead.
• Fiona Johnson led off the top of the third with a single before stealing second. A two-out fielding error allowed her to score and tie the game.
• DeDomenico drew a walk to start the bottom of the inning before Rebecca Lombardo and Morgan Zane had back-to-back singles to load the bases. A one-out knock by Korie Hague scored two runs before a two-out Cali Kraemer double stretched the lead to 5-1.
• DeDomenico led off the fourth with a home run. With one out, Duffy and Steph Kantanas singled around a Hague walk. With a 7-1 lead and two outs, Mackenzie Short blasted a grand slam for the final margin.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Rowan outhit McDaniel 12-3 on the day. Four Profs had two hits.
• Emily Kain recorded her first collegiate hit in the fifth inning.
