THE SKINNY STORY

THE LEADERS
• Michaela Persinger (Emmitsburg, Md./Catoctin) led the Green Terror with a 2-for-3 day at the plate that included two doubles and a walk.
FOR THE FOES
• Emily Puckett led the Pacers with one of her team's four hits, breaking up the scoreless affair with a single in the top of the eighth.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• The teams took a scoreless game into extra innings before William Peace plated three runs in the top of the eighth. Claire Boaz walked and stole second to lead off the top of frame. After the Pacers had a run cut down at the plate, Boaz scored on a one-out Emily Puckett single. A passed ball and two-out error led to two more unearned runs in the frame and a 3-0 advantage.
• Michaela Persinger doubled with one out in the bottom of the inning to score Emily Kain (Sykesville, Md./Century) from second. Persinger then took third on a groundout and scoring on a passed ball to cut the deficit to one. The Green Terror got the would-be tying run to third base but a groundout preserved the win for William Peace.
THE INSIDE STORY
• The Green Terror used five pitchers on the afternoon.
• Danielle Hunt went 7 2/3 innings in the circle with 10 strikeouts for the win. McKenzie Ward got the final out for a save.
