THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel scored eight runs in the first inning of game one before Ursinus scored the first seven runs of game two for a split. The Green Terror held on for an 8-7 victory in the opener before the Bears won the nightcap, 10-4.

THE LEADERS
• Alicia Wagner (Bradenton, Fla./Lakewood Ranch) led the Green Terror with a three-run home run in game one.
• Kristina Shank (Mardela Springs, Md./Mardela) added two hits in game two – both home runs.

FOR THE FOES
• Ally St. Jean had three hits in the nightcap to lead the Bears.
• Kayla McTamney led the Bears in the circle in game two, going the distance and allowing just five hits and striking out two.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• In game one, Kristina Shank drew a walk to lead off the home first before moving to second on a sacrifice and stealing third. After a Michaela Persinger (Emmitsburg, Md./Catoctin) walk and stolen base, Alicia Wagner cranked a 3-2 line drive out to right-center for a 3-0 lead. Megan Coyle (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman), Madison Froemel (Suffolk, Va./Kings Fork) and Megan Horsey (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor) all followed with singles to load the bases and force the first pitching change of the inning. A wild pitch made it 4-0 before Tori Wilkins (Lutz, Fla./Land O'Lakes) drew a walk to reload the bases. Mattie Whalen (Magnolia, N.J./Sterling) roped a two-run double to the gap and a throwing error made it 7-0. Shank's second walk of the inning forced another pitching change before Haley Michael (Oldsmar, Fla./East Lake) was hit by a pitch to load the bases again. A Persinger RBI groundout made it 8-0.
• Ursinus countered, however, in the next two frames. Heather Lazer reached on an error to lead off the inning before an Amanda Ladzinksi infield single. A one-out Sammi Donato single loaded the bases before an RBI groundout and Megan Hasulak RBI single cut the deficit to 8-2. Morgan Comfort followed with a double to make it an 8-4 game.
• In the third, one-out singles from Lazer, Ladzinksi and Callie Crouse loaded the bases before Donato and Mackenzie Brennan each had RBI singles and a Hasulak sacrifice fly made it an 8-7 game.
• The relief pitchers settled in from there and allowed just six combined baserunners the rest of the way.
• Brennan singled up the middle to open the second game. Hasulak and Comfort each followed with RBI infield singles to make it 1-0 before an out was recorded. A one-out fielding error and two-out Ally St. Jean two-run single made it 4-0 in the top of the first.
• Comfort reached on an infield single to start the third before a throwing error and sacrifice put her at third. Gabrielle Manto poked a single through the left side to make it 5-0 before a two-run Lazer home run to left stretched the lead to 7-0.
• Wilkins singled with one out in the bottom of the inning before a fielder's choice and Shank two-run home run got McDaniel on the board and cut the deficit to 7-2.
• The Bears tacked on a single run in the fourth on a Brennan leadoff single, stolen base, sacrifice bunt and Comfort sacrifice fly.
• A pair of dropped popups helped the Bears stretch the lead to 10-2 in the fifth.
• Froemel led off the bottom of the fifth with a double before giving way to pinch-runner Julia Dimmick (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase). Raegan Jackson (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) and Wilkins each dropped down bunts to score Dimmick and make it 10-3, extending the game.
• Shank led off the bottom of the sixth with a home run to right-center to set the final margin.

THE INSIDE STORY
• Alicia Wagner's first-inning home run in game one was her first roundtripper since the end of last season.
• Kristina Shank's two-homer game two was the Green Terror's first multi-home run game since Lindsey Miller in 2016.
• Michaela Persinger and Madison Froemel had two hits each in game one.
• Krista Waller (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) pitched 4 2/3 innings of scoreless relief with three hits and three strikeouts for the game-one win.
• Ursinus clinched a playoff berth with the game-two victory. The Bears and Garnet will finish their halted game on Sunday to determine which team is the No. 3 seed and which team is No. 4.
• McDaniel saw its seven-year run in the conference tournament come to an end with the loss in game two.
